Woodshedder is an organizational and practice platform built for musicians who want to learn with clarity, structure, and purpose. Inspired by the longstanding tradition of “woodshedding”, retreating to the woodshed to practice. The platform gives students a dedicated space to pick up their axe, work on their chops, and stay engaged with their musical goals.
Woodshedder was founded by Blaine Anderson and Marcel Ardans. Blaine led the development of Woodshedder’s organizational framework and practice workflow tools, drawing on his deep experience in strategic design and product innovation. Marcel spearheaded the creation of the Creator Store, a built-in marketplace where trusted educators share high quality learning materials.
Together, Woodshedder’s focus on organization and creator empowerment forms an experience that supports the whole musical journey. From inspiration and practice to community and discovery.
The Pickers Behind Woodshedder
Blaine Anderson
Founder
Blaine Anderson is an experienced entrepreneur, musician and operator with over 25 years of experience accelerating innovative product development through Design Thinking and User Centered Design across a broad spectrum of verticals including music, entertainment and healthcare.
In addition to co-founding Woodshed Labs with Marcel, Blaine is currently a Founding Partner at OtherLeft Ventures, a Venture Studio and fund co-creating new B2B software businesses with driven innovators. Prior to OtherLeft Ventures, he cofounded and exited two leading digital strategy, design and development agencies – PointClear Solutions, which he exited in 2017, and OtherLeft, LLC., which was sold to SuperWise in 2023.
Blaine is also a founding partner at ClearBox Rights, a Nashville-based global rights management firm, specializing in music copyrights since 2007. Before beginning his entrepreneurial journey in 2006 Blaine spent over 15 years at NASA, specializing in the testing large space structures in the Space Station and Shuttle Program.
Marcel Ardans
Co-Founder
Marcel Ardans is a bluegrass educator, entrepreneur, and content strategist with a decade of experience helping musicians build skill, confidence, and creative identity through practical, structured learning tools.
Marcel is the founder of Lessons With Marcel, a leading bluegrass music education brand recognized for instructional videos, meticulously crafted tablature resources, and community driven learning. Through YouTube, digital products, and live events, he has built one of the most influential platforms in modern flatpicking education.
Before launching his instructional career, Marcel spent years performing and teaching, developing a methodical approach to flatpicking informed by tradition, transcription, and deep community engagement.
